This 10-week workshop will take you through the ins and outs of basic screenwriting format, language, and structure. Participants will write in and out of class to discover and develop screen stories, learn methods of developing authentic characters, and analyze scenes and story sequences to understand conflict, rising action, and character arcs.

Shaun Crawford


Shaun Crawford is an award-winning writer and filmmaker based out of Calgary, Alberta. He studied screenwriting at Vancouver Film School and holds a Bachelors of Education from the University of Alberta. Shaun has written for radio, TV commercials, web, short and long form film, and extended reality mediums, and his work has aired on CBC, HBO, The Movie Network, and has screened at festivals in Canada and the US. He has written two fully produced feature-length films including Everfall starring Colm Feore, and A Miracle on Christmas Lake which received worldwide distribution with Sony. Shaun has most recently worked as an augmented reality and virtual reality writer and content creator with MAMMOTH XR. He is a passionate supporter of dream chasers and believes in the capacity of the arts to explore the human experience.
