An informative day on blocking for film production. Beginning with blocking theory and history, participants will be exposed to the work of master directors throughout film history in order to explore and learn from some of the most impactful and fundamental strategies for staging scenes as well as the impact of the camera in blocking scenarios. Armed with that knowledge, the instructor will guide the participants through the creation of floor plans for their own example scenes, followed by a hands-on opportunity to block actual scenes with camera and performers and an opportunity to analyze the experience.

This workshop is perfect for filmmakers of beginner and intermediate skill levels.

Saturday, December 14th (10:30am- 4:30pm)
