CSIF is a member-driven organization and therefore relies heavily on volunteer support within our community. Whether you want to get your Production Membership volunteer hours in, or just want to become more active in Calgary's independent film community, we are happy to meet you to discuss what skills you can offer. If you are interested in volunteering, you can be added to our volunteer mailing list to automatically get emails anytime a volunteer position opens up on SignUp.com. New volunteers are encouraged to attend our monthly member orientation sessions, usually held on the first Saturday of each month.

Director of Photography:

We are looking for a talented DP for our short film! The role would include collaborating on a stylistic vision for the project and executing. We have a really great set - a beautiful acreage home with a perfect attic set piece for the film’s finale. This role would include camera operation and lighting. The set is mostly indoors, so lighting will be really important for this project. If you have a team of people you like to work with, we’re happy to discuss bringing them onto the project with us as well!
Our film received the FISH Fund Grant through CSIF, so we are excited to be able to get the equipment you'd need to execute our collaborative vision.
If interested, please email us some samples of your work!

Production Sound:
Sound is one of the most important aspects of film - and we know it. We are looking for a talented Production Sound person who can capture great sound on set, including boom operation and audio monitoring.
If interested, please email us some samples of your work!

Other roles:
We have a few opportunities to help out with various aspects of the film from PAs, lighting and audio support, and script supervision.

For further inquiries about on-set volunteering, or if you are a member who needs volunteer help on your film, please email production@csif.org.
