Cinematography

This workshop explores how Cinematographer's use their artistry, craft, and technology to author images supporting the Director's interpretation of the story. Participants will examine how the quality, angle, colour, and quantity of light affects or influences the image. Composition, lens selection, depth of field, aspect ratio, camera height and camera movement and their collective effect on the story are also discussed. How Cinematographer's work collaboratively with the Director, Production Designer or Art Director, and other members of the production team to create the "look" is another important aspect that is reviewed. The goal is to provide workshop participants techniques they can implement on their productions.
