STORYHIVE 

supports filmmakers with mentorship and support from the National Screen Institute since 2013. They have grants for music videos, web series, digital shorts, animation, and a $100K grant. 

CANADIAN MEDIA FUND

fosters, promotes, develops and finances the production of Canadian content and relevant applications for all audiovisual media platforms. 

 

CSIF + IMAGINENATIVE MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

is an opportunity for an emerging First Nations filmmaker to access equipment and mentorship resources from CSIF to make a short film for the imagineNATIVE Festival. The successful applicant will also receive a $1,000 commission fee, as well as a free trip to the imagineNATIVE Festival in Toronto to attend the premiere screening of their film. 

TELEFILM TALENT TO WATCH PROGRAM

(formerly the Micro-budget Program) is an annual fund for feature and web-based projects. Program applications from Alberta are juried through CSIF and up to three letters of recommendation are provided to Telefilm.  

TELEFILM DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM 

supports Canadian production companies looking to finance the development stage of their feature film project(s).

CANADA COUNCIL FOR THE ARTS

provides research, creation, production and dissemination support to artists, organizations, groups and independent collectives in film, video, new media and audio, as well as providing support for festivals, travel, operating activities and equipment acquisition.

THE ALBERTA FOUNDATION FOR THE ARTS FILM & VIDEO ARTS: INDIVIDUAL PROJECT GRANT STREAM 

supports the development of individual artists by providing a grant for a specific film or media project(s)

 

THE BELL MEDIA HAROLD GREENBERG FUND 

supports the development of Canadian feature films including story optioning, script development, equity investment. Also includes the Shorts-to-Features Program.

THE INDEPENDENT PRODUCTION FUND 

provides financial support for dramatic television series for TV or web created by Canadian independent producers.

SHAW ROCKET FUND  

supports television and digital content for children’s programming in Canada.
