The Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers is an inclusive, non-profit, arts-based society that exists to encourage filmmaking as art, reflecting and challenging our changing cultural landscape through production, exhibition and distribution of the filmmaker's work.
We are now accepting applications to hire full-time Summer Students for paid positions to work with CSIF for a maximum of 12 weeks between the months of May-August under a pending grant from Canada Summer Jobs. Eligible candidates must be students who are returning to school in the Fall.

ADMINISTRATIVE & COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT
The Administrative and Communications Assistant will work in the CSIF office and will be a point of contact for inquiries, phone calls and new members. They will work under the supervision of the Executive Director to disseminate information via social media, newsletters, and community outreach. The Assistant will manage volunteers and create documentation of programming events. Communications research, website copy writing, photo editing and data entry are also required.
Field of Studies: Communications, Arts Administration, Cultural Studies, Film. The student will receive hands-on training and experience in a professional not-for-profit arts environment with specific duties applicable to each of the above as listed in tasks and responsibilities.
Programming & Productions Assistant
The Programming and Production Assistant will work under the supervision of the Executive Director, Production Director, and Programming Director to support the staff with summer event planning; production support for our members shooting film; volunteer management and recruitment; writing for various platforms. In addition, the Programming and Production Assistant will maintain our archive and film inventory, and allow for future research and programming opportunities for films made in Calgary since 1978.
Field of Studies: Film and Media Production, Event Programming and Planning, Communications, Arts Administration, Film Studies. The student will receive hands-on training and experience in a professional not-for-profit arts environment with specific duties applicable to each of the above as listed in tasks and responsibilities.
