Membership to the Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers is open to any member of the public who wishes to become a member of the CSIF. The Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers is committed to making its resources and facilities accessable to all members of the society regardless of age, sex, gender orientation, race or religious background.
The Membership Policy of the CSIF is intended to attract members to the Society who are willing to commit time and energy to the Society in exchange for the commitment of the Society towards their individual film making endeavours.
The Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers has three levels of membership, Library Membership, Associate Membership and Production Membership.
LIBRARY MEMBERSHIP
Library Membership is $15 annually. As a Library Member you are entitled to access to the CSIF's 2000+ titles of 16mm and Super 8mm films.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP
Associate membership is a supporting level of membership and is open
to anyone wishing to support the Mission Statement, Aims and Objectives
of the CSIF.
The cost of Associate Membership is $40 annually.
RIGHTS OF ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP
- To Receive all of the rights of a General Membership

- To receive a quarterly copy of the CSIF newsletters.
- To receive regular mailings and e-mails regarding CSIF, and member activities.
- To receive discounted admission prices to CSIF sponsored events where such are advertised to the membership.
- Receive discounts on all CSIF sponsored workshops.
- To attend, speak and to vote on issues at all general meetings.
- To vote to elect members to the board of directors at the Annual General Meeting.
PRODUCTION MEMBERSHIP
Production Membership is intended for all active members of the Society who wish to use the Facilities of the Society to produce their own films. Production Membership is open to any member in good standing who can demonstrate proficiency with the equipment he or she intends to use.
The cost of Production Membership is $60 Annually.
- To Receive all of the rights of an Associate Membership

- All applications for Production Membership must apply in person to the
Coordinator of Production.
- Production Members must have been an Associate Member of the CSIF for a minimum of one month.
- Production Members must demonstrate a commitment to volunteer 20 hours annually to the Co-op.
- Production Members must demonstrate an understanding of the CSIF's Policy, Aims and Objectives.
RIGHTS OF PRODUCTION MEMBERSHIP

- To receive all the same Rights of an Associate Member.
- To reserve and rent production equipment from the Society’s equipment bank for the purpose of making films that have been approved under the Project Approval Policy.
- To stand for election to the Board of Directors of the Society.
VOLUNTEER POLICY
THE CSIF recognizes that volunteers are an integral part of the future of the CSIF and must be valued for the time and energy they are willing to devote to the Society’s needs. Without volunteers the CSIF would lose sight of the reason it exist: To cooperate in the production and exhibition of independent film.
