Secret Cinema w/ the Kinkonauts
In 1997, CSIF acquired a library of more than a thousand 16mm films from the Calgary Public Library including cult classics, animations, shorts and docs. Once every month, a local personality or organization is asked to choose a film from the collection to screen!
The only catch is that we never disclose the title of the film until you see it... come out and get in on the secret!
The screenings are held in CSIF's screening room @ #100, 1725 - 10 Avenue SW. Drinks & popcorn will be available for sale. Admission is by donation.
Wednesday August 15 2018, 7PM | curated by Owen Chan & Rob Janowski of The Kinkonauts (Doors open @ 6:30PM).
The Kinkonauts are Calgary’s Improv Lab: a long-form and short-form improv theatre troupe based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. They take up residence in Inglewood at the Alexandra Centre and are dedicated to sharing the joy of improv with the community.
This event takes place on the traditional territories of the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta, which includes the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprising the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai First Nations), the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda (including the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Wesley First Nations). The City of Calgary is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region III.
