Programming Events (Member screenings, Classic Film Screenings, $100 Film Festival etc) - pre-show promotions (putting up posters, sending e-mails) - concession (making popcorn and selling drinks) - ticket sales - ushering - documentation (photo/video) - setup/ takedown
Graphic Design - event posters/ branding - general CSIF promotions - advertising designs - swag design/ implementation
Office administration - database setup and entry - resource & film library organization - data entry - helping with large-scale mail-outs (envelope labeling, stuffing and stamping) - communications implementation
Critical Writing - writing articles for our quarterly Answer Print Journal - writing blog posts for our Programming/ Production / $100 Film Festival blogs - creating video content for the blogs
COMMITTEE WORK (longer term volunteer commitment)
Volunteers are welcome to more than one committee if they so desire. Committee members work in collaboration with CSIF board members and staff to create an annual plan and make decisions in regards to implementing that plan. re may also be one-time tasks created as part of working on these committees, which can be divided between committee members, staff and volunteers.
Communications Committee - works to support the promotion of CSIF, Annual Programming events, Workshops and other Production events.
Financial/ Fund-raising Committee - works to oversee CSIF's financial and create additional funding opportunities like fundraisers, grants and sponsorship.
Programming Committee - works to create an annual Programming plan and implement Programming events (not including the $100 Film Festival).
Production Committee - works to plan equipment investments, repairs and workshops.
Answer Print Committee - works to plan each issue of the Answer Print Quarterly Publication. This involves setting and attending meeting dates for publication planning, article writing, editing and issue layout.
$100 Film Festival Committee - works to plan the annual $100 Film Festival. This includes chairing the Committee, film research, sponsorship, graphic design, jurying, communications, promotions, artist liaisons, and volunteer coordination.
CSIF Board of Directors - The Board of Directors is the legal authority for the CSIF. As a member of the CSIF Board, a Board Member acts in a position of trust for the membership and the community, and is responsible for the effective governance of the organization. A Board Member is responsible for being fully informed on organizational matters, and participates in the board’s deliberations and decisions in matters of policy, finance, programs, personnel, and advocacy. CSIF Board Members are able to chair committees in as part of their board service.
