CSIF presents: Canadian Diaries
August 24-26, 2010

An exhibition of short historical and contemporary Canadian Documentary films.  Featuring the seminal NFB documentary Pour la Suite du Monde by Pierre Perrault and Michel Brault.

The screenings consist of two short programs on August 24 & 25 at the CSIF Sofa Cinema and culminates with the feature film on August 26 at the Canmore Opera House - Heritage Park Historical Village.

The Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers (CSIF) is seeking applications for the position of Operations Coordinator.

Application Deadline: September 1 at 12pm (noon).

The Coordinator will be responsible for the following major duties:
Overseeing the daily operations of the organization including accounting and financial operations; grant writing and reporting; maintaining membership records; researching and implementing fundraising and sponsorship opportunities and alternative revenue sources; representing CSIF interests with other member organizations.

In collaboration with the National Film Board, CSIF has curated a playlist of NFB documentaries for their website and iphone application. 
In preparation for our Canadian Diaries program next week, these films capture the feel of the program and showcase the variety of films that have told our stories throughout Canadian cinema history.  The films included in the play list represent cinema direct films, along with contemporary traditional and experimental documentaries.
